Charles Skorina’s website - jQuery and WordPress

Date: 30 June, 2010  |  Category: web design

We have just relaunched an old website first designed back in 2006. The client wanted a clean and tabloid look, easy to update, with blog system and flashy transitions. To achieve this we based the new web design on WordPress and added some nice functionalities using jQuery.

These functionalities include autoscroll, fades between pages, image slideshows and resize and reload of text and images depending on the size of the screen.

You can visit the new site at http://www.charlesskorina.com

New Web design Reel 09

Date: 25 September, 2009  |  Category: Flash website design, Print, corporate id, web design

We have finally finished editing our new web design reel. The main difference between this one and the previous (2006) reel is that this one won’t show any print / graphic design work except for some CD artwork and T-shirt designs which are linked to featured Websites.

Another difference is that we have added some motion graphics to present some of these websites and that we have produced this reel in HD (High Definition).

Feel free to click on the download link below to get the reel for your iPod and iPhones.

By the way, we would like to welcome the Inter-American Developement Bank to QB Media’s family!

A side note - Flash and Search engines

Date: 15 April, 2009  |  Category: Flash website design, News

We’ve been building Flash websites for years now. We often get the “Flash and search engine indexing problem” as a response whenever we suggest a site has to be done in Flash. To avoid the indexing problem we have been using alternative SEO methods to make our sites rank (high!) in search engines with selected keywords…and this has worked perfectly over the years.

Now it has come to our attention something that has really excited the team: Google is indexing not just static text (as it has been doing since last year) but also dynamic content. This means that we can change texts through CMS and these will be indexed by Google. Of course this doen’t work for all loaded movies (yet) but for sure it will in the following months. Google is also indexing content embedded through SWFObject which is great news too, as now fullscreen flash sites can also be indexed.

So, Google is catching up with Adobe’s Flash, but unfortunately Yahoo and Live Search aren’t doing so. We hope they do, or they will be under Google’s shadow forever.

New Website Online!

Date: 06 March, 2009  |  Category: Flash website design, News, Print, corporate id, logo design, web design

On our previous post we said a we would launch the new site in a week but we couldn’t hold it much more! Yes, 2 days after THAT post, the site has been launched and has some nice features. We won’t get into the administration panel module because that would be too technical and geeky…but it rocks!

One of the nicest features of the website is that you can see videos of almost every website we have designed, we plan to do so for the interactive CDs etc, but we haven’t decided that yet.

The website was designed in 2 days, coded in 15 and we spent 40 days uploading content so we hope you like it. Go ahead and enjoy the awesomness of our awesome website (uh?).

Will we design for HP? who knows!

We were contacted by HP (Hewlett-Packard) some weeks ago. It turns out they are looking for new design agencies to take care of some of their work for the Latin and North American market. Will they call again? Who knows. Would it be cool? Definitely.

New website coming soon!

Date: 04 March, 2009  |  Category: Flash website design, News, Print, corporate id, logo design, web design

As you can tell for our new header image we are going to launch QB Media’s new HTML site soon. It will have a much better design and some nice features which we hope our clients, visitors and friends will enjoy. It has been long since we designed the one we have now and seems longer since we last updated it! So, if everything works as it should (should I say that?) we plan to launch it next week. Stay tuned!

contenet management system for uploading and editing Flash website

The Flash website we designed for Siglo uses a CMS (Content Management System) which allows the owner to add, delete or edit texts and images (very handy for their online portfolios and image galleries) as well as the inner pages and covers of an interactive magazine.

The parallax effects and the changeable background images create a special atmoshpere which really enhances the user experience.

We were contacted by Canal 10 (Channel 10) one of Latin America´s first TV channels in order to design their new website. We worked closely with the channel designers and while QB Media took care of the layout and internal page designs the channel focused on the content.

This is QB Media’s second time working on a TV channel website as we previously took part of NBC’s Channel 22 project.

tourist farm flash website design, outdoor adventures in South American guest ranch

The Flash website we have just designed for the paradisiacal Estancia El Mangrullo can be easily updated on a daily basis by its owners through a simple to use administration module. This module allows uploading, deleting or editing both text and images easily without having any knowledge on Flash software. Of course this comes really handy considering the six 12-picture Flash galleries this site has.

The website design adapts to the browser’s size and resolution creating a  nice atmoshpere which can be enhanced by pressing the fullscreen button anytime. The pictures for the website background and brochure (distributed throughout Europe) were also taken by QB Media.

So go ahead and immerse yourself in this beautiful south american farm, go horseback riding, birdwatching,  and get lost in the breathtaking sunsets
